Phillip A. Parrott

Phil Parrott is a member of the firm primarily devoting his practice to fraud investigation and complex litigation. He also advises individuals, businesses and foundations regarding general business issues. Phil began his career with the national law firm of Kirkland & Ellis, where he practiced in the banking and real estate departments. He then joined Montgomery Little Young Campbell and McGrew, where he continued to practice in banking, lending and real estate, including workouts and bankruptcies. He became a member of the firm. Phil returned to Kirkland & Ellis, working in the banking department, which included the private equity practice. He was a partner with the firm. Phil left to become a Chief Deputy District Attorney in charge of the Economic Crime Unit of the Denver District Attorney's Office where his focus was on financial crime, investment fraud, identity theft and state grand jury practice. Among other awards, he was named 2001 Prosecutor of the Year by the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the International Association of Financial Crimes Investigators. For over ten years, Mr. Parrott served on the Board of Directors of the Colorado Enterprise Fund, a non-profit community development financing agency. He is an Adjunct Instructor for the National White Collar Crime Center (nw3c.org) and has written numerous articles on economic crime prosecution and prevention, including “The Enemy Within: Employee Embezzlement and the Law Firm,” 25 Colo. Lawyer 11 (Nov. 1996) and “Financial Exploitation of the Elderly: How Lawyers Can Help Protect their Clients,” 31 Colorado Lawyer 8 (August 2002). He has lectured across the Country on numerous topics including banking law, bankruptcy, criminal law, private equity, fraud investigation and prosecution and identity theft. He has testified as an expert on Colorado grand jury practice, check kiting and investment fraud. Phil is a graduate with honors from both the Colorado State University and the University of Colorado School Of Law. In 2013 he received the inaugural Distinguished Career Award from the Colorado State University Rams JD Association. In addition to his work at CKBR, Phil serves as Vice President for Legal Affairs at Seneca Management, a private equity fund adviser.
